Research in Motion (RIM) is speculated to be developing their tablet PC named Blackpad which is estimated to be released in November this year. However late, the Blackpad will be compete against Apple’s iPad and other tablets from different manufacturers.
According the current information, the Blackpad will come with a 9.7-inch LCD multi-touch display, Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth with rear and front facing cameras and runs Blackberry OS. It was reported that Quanta, a Taiwanese manufacturer, won the bid to manufacture the tablet for RIM, starting with 2 million units to be available for retail in November. The initial price estimates are speculated to be around $499, matching the lowest priced iPad.
