Nook Color Bluetooth Chip sees Daylight

Every Nook Color has a Bluetooth Chip embedded inside it but turned off by default. Not long ago we saw how to root nook color to make it truly an Android tablet, today we have another good news. A user at xda-developer forum has managed to run the embedded bluetooth adapter of the device adding one more reason to buy this $250 tablet/reader from Barnes and Noble.

The crack is buggy and complicated and runs only on Froyo. Currently Nook color comes with Android 2.1 but Barnes and Noble has promised Froyo before March starts. By then I’m sure the developers will manage to give hack to run Bluetooth for endless possibilities like using headset for Skype calls, leveraging a bluetooth devices like GPS and so on. Or maybe Barnes and Nobel will (or have to) turn on the Bluetooth themselves in the upcoming update. News Source: Review Horizon
